First Movie of the Year! : Insidious The Last Key

Cheers to my very first movie watched this year! I’ve been eyeing on this movie since I knew it’s released date. If you don’t know me, I’ve been addicted to horror movies in the recent years, thus of course I’ve been following all of the Insidious movies. I think the concept, the plot and the telling of the story is brilliant.

Nevertheless, the third Insidious movie was a bit bored for me, but it was thrilling as usual of course. It’s just that for me, the first and second movies were better. Now let’s get to the fourth one, shall we?

Synopsis : Parapsychologist Dr. Elise Rainier faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet – in her own family home.

Genre : Horror, Mystery, Thriller

Director : Adam Robitel

Released date : January 4th, 2018

Run Time : 1 hr 43 min

My Review :

The expectation and the hype was real for me. I was expecting the last one to be the most thrilling one. The starting of this movie was captivating. It tells us on Elise’s childhood and the back story was a satisfying information for the audience indeed. Then, as it got to the middle part of the movie, I was bored by the movie a little. Of course the jump scares and shit was real good and thrilling. But the development of the movie was a bit slow compared to the previous movies. Anyways, as it approached the end of the movie, things got real again and every second was fun stuff and it was sure scaring the hell out of me. This movie basically revolves around Elise and her family and why she wanted to help people in the first place. Definitely the most significant movie out of the four. If you are an Insidious’s fan, you will need to watch this regardless what people say about this movie. Oh! Not forgetting to mention, the ending of the movie was the fun bit as we could see the entire connection of the whole story.

Rating : 3.5 / 5 stars

  1. Im quite sad on how Insidious the last key end, there will be no Elise (perhaps) on the next movie as the story goes back into Insidious 1 where Elise will meet her time. 😦

Nevertheless, I quite agree on Insidious 3, its a little lame for me but entirely a crucial part for the sequels. I still cant move on from the series and I’ll rewatch the series again. 😀

Insidious 1 & 2 definitely a fave! With all the plot and twist makes me reminisce why I love a plot twist books back then. 😀

Wait! I thought james wan was the director. Haha. Okays. 😦
